Brief Background:

About Us: Under-Privileged Grassroot Foundation was formed in 2015 as a non-governmental, non-religious, non-political and non-profit organization to promote good health, quality education, effective water and sanitation hygiene, gender equality, affecting the marginalized women, youths and children in society.

The foundation is also aimed at reducing issues of poverty through skill acquisitions, good governance, integration and promote the socio-economic status and general well-being of the most vulnerable people, groups and communities. The foundation’s target beneficiaries are women, youths, children, disable persons and the aged.

The foundation is legally registered with the Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC) with RC No. 144790 of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to carry out humanitarian values and practices.

Vision Statement: To see a community where the vulnerable and disadvantaged women, youths, children, disabled and aged persons have access to portable water/sanitation, good health, quality education and live a positive and sustainable life and to restore hope for a better future.

 Mission Statement: To work and efficiently contribute to a better world where the quality of life of the most vulnerable people are self-fulfilled in society.

Main Goals: To contribute to improving the livelihood of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged women, children, youths, disable and aged people through the provision of access to quality education, better health and income generation.

Our Focus: Health, Education, and income generation activities

Objectives:

  • To promote and provide quality health care services to marginalize and vulnerable people in our communities.
  • To promote sanitation and hygiene by contributing in reducing water-related disease through provision of access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene education.
  • To provide basic Health Education and Information training to Women, and Youths for development, Economic Growth and Poverty alleviation.
  • To facilitate community infrastructural development through renovation and building of schools, primary health care and to improve the quality of teaching through capacity building of teachers, and to support girl child education for the rebuilding of our educational system.
  • To train and empower the less privileged women, youth and children on various skill acquisition programs such as Dressmaking, (Tailoring, Knitting), Hairdressing, Hat, Beads, Baking & Confectioneries, Shoes & Bags, Computer operation, and to train viable youths on Agro-preneur to reduce poverty, create employment opportunities and to promote income generation activities (IGA).

To create awareness, re-integrate and empower victims of human trafficking and commercial sex workers (CSW) on psycho-socio and economic support for self-reliance.
